Thinkorswim users can import our ChartLists as Watchlists.
To import our ChartLists into thinkorswim:
First, locate the ChartList of interest on our site and download the Excel version.
Next, you will need to make a few edits to the Excel file in order to ensure compatibility with thinkorswim. Ultimately, you'll need a list of ticker symbols in Column A (without a header). To accomplish this, you will need to delete the header row, if applicable, and delete any columns beyond Column A.
Then, save a copy of the file with the MS-DOS Formatted Text extension (.txt). This extension is required for import into thinkorswim. (Note: .csv and .xlsx extensions also work.)
Your file is ready for import. Log in to your thinkorswim account. Click the dropdown on your Watchlists. Select "Create Watchlist".
Next, enter your Watchlist name and select "Import...". Then, locate the file you previously saved. You will have the option to either add the symbols to your existing Watchlist or replace the symbols.
Complete! You should now see the symbols in your Watchlist.
